The Collective Impact Project (CIP)

A project aimed at improving living environments in Montreal neighborhoods with lasting impacts on people.

What is the CIP?

A collective initiative

The Collective Impact Project (CIP) is a collective initiative to fight poverty and social exclusion.

Tools and support for communities

The CIP provides communities with the tools and support they need to target key issues and make significant progress through a variety of initiatives. The project’s philanthropic, institutional and community partners collaborate and pool their resources to support these neighbourhoods.

A collective impact

This approach is founded on having bodies at different levels work together to solve complex problems. As a project, the CIP is therefore greater than the sum of its parts.

A flexible approach adapted to Montreal’s neighbourhoods

The CIP aims to improve Montreal's living environments by supporting collective initiatives that have a lasting impact on communities.

The CIP approach combines philanthropic, institutional and community resources into a network of cooperation between a neighbourhood’s different stakeholders. The project provides multi-year funding to neighbourhoods to support the initiatives that they define for their residents.

In addition to funding, the CIP provides support, training and participatory workshops.

By focusing on collaboration, experimentation and learning with all partners, the CIP is a flexible project that brings people together to work on specific local needs.

Objective: to contribute to the implementation of long-term systemic changes in communities, while meeting their immediate needs.
