About Rosemont

Where decisions are made collectively

Located in the heart of Montreal, Rosemont has all the assets of a central Montreal neighbourhood: many commercial areas, sufficient public transit, a large network of public schools and early childhood centres, as well as very dynamic neighbourhood life. The reflex of working together is very strong, as demonstrated by the Décider Rosemont participatory process, which started 10 years ago to help citizens participate in making initiatives a reality. In Rosemont, collective accomplishments are many and leadership is shared. The neighbourhood wants to continue on this path to develop meeting spaces to bring residents together even more in a spirit of social diversity and inclusion.

Timeline

The neighbourhood's target project: “Going Where People Are”

The goal of this project is to reach the most vulnerable citizens in isolated areas of poverty and refer them to resources that can give them support. This project is meant to break down geographical and language barriers between residents who are involved and those who are isolated.
